INTRODUCTION
Have you ever thought about the waste you produce? And about how long it takes for your waste to decompose? After this project, you will get a better idea of it. In this project, you are going to work in groups to find out how big your carbon footprint is and to learn about ways of reducing it in order to take care of the Earth.
Keep in mind these important tips and rules:
- Read carefully and understanding what your tasks are.
- You are a team and you must work cooperatively. All the members of the team must do their work if you want to succeed. Remember that you will get a mark for these skills, too.
- The aim of the project is to learn about a topic and to practise your English, so remember to use it with your teammates.
- All the things you will learn during the time of the project are part of the contents and will be asked in the next exams (vocabulary, grammar, use of English). In addition, the products you hand in during and at the end of the project will get a mark that will be added to the appropriate percentage (20% listening comprehension; 20 % reading comprehension; 20 % writing; 20 % speaking; 20 % use of English).
The different tasks will have to be performed on a special "notebook" that each group will have to design and send to your google classroom. Your notebook must have a cover page with the name of the group on it, and the following title:
YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR HEADPHONES!
DELIVERY DEADLINE: 9th November
At the end of the project, you will be taking part in an international environmental summit where you will be representing one country. But, before that, let's start by watching this video.

PRE-TASK: It's time to think about this video. What do you think it means? What is its aim? Talk about it in your team and then explain it.
